Hampden House is an organisation of 20 psychotherapists, all of whom are professionally qualified and able to offer help with difficulties you may be experiencing. These include such conditions as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, loss and bereavement, stress and trauma or perhaps even just a vague feeling of unhappiness and dissatisfaction about your life or a wish to be free to lead your life in a more fulfilling way.
A range of therapies are on offer depending on your particular needs. These include psychoanalytic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), couple therapy and group analysis. Don’t worry if you don’t understand all these terms – we can help to determine the most appropriate therapy for you.
After the initial contact with us, we will offer you the opportunity to complete a questionnaire and will then offer you an initial consultation appointment with a suitable therapist. This will allow you and the therapist the chance to think about whether you can work together. All therapists have been carefully selected and vetted by a clinical management committee and are expected to be in supervision with a senior colleague within the profession. This is in line with best practice within the profession.
We provide therapy both on a long and short term basis, depending on the issues you wish to address. A decision about this can be made at the initial consultation. This will also include the question of regularity of sessions. This is often weekly but can be more or less frequent depending on your circumstances. At this point, the issue of fees can also be discussed and negotiated.
Hampden House is a Victorian building, comfortably furnished and with parking space. It contains a waiting room with tea and coffee available. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and high standards and you can be assured of being treated with courtesy, confidentiality and respect.
